Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center, located at 735 Ramona Street, has been a community center hub serving families of all ages since 1993. The Community Center offered fun, unique programs - preschool, afterschool, and teen programs, summer and school break programs, instruction in music and art, and special events. The outdoor area provides picnic and barbecue areas reservable for private parties, an expansive lawn, basketball court, and playground.

The City of Monterey continues to be intentional in how, where, and what services are provided to residents given the limited fiscal resources available for ongoing programs and facilitiesChanges in student enrollment, summer camps, and after school programs offered by the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District has also impacted demand for youth and teen programs at Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center, other park centers, and the Monterey Sports Center.

The City’s Recreation Division seeks feedback from residents of Casanova Oak Knoll, Laguna Grande, Del Monte Grove, Villa Del Monte, and Del Monte Beach neighborhoods on what services are desired at Casanova Oak Knoll Park CenterWe hope you will complete the survey and let us know. Residents in these four neighborhoods will receive a print survey in their mailbox they can drop back in the mail - postage prepaid - for us to collect. The link to the longer online digital survey is posted in ENGLISH at https://surveymonkey.com/r/COKPC and in SPANISH at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/COKPC-SPAThe survey will remain open through May 17, 2023.

Our goal is to better understand what programs and services you would like to see at Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center and how likely you would participate in programs if they were offered. Thank you in advance for your feedback and input!

Thank you for your interest in the Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center. As part of the approved budget, the Parks and Recreation budget contains funding to fund staffing for programming at the center. Currently, the Summer Fun Playground Program is in full swing at this neighborhood park. We still have openings for the program and hope you will spread the word!

We have also completed analyzing the May 2023 survey results. You can see a snapshot of results in the associated graphics. They also include feedback from neighbors about programs and services at Montecito Park and Laguna Grande Park. The results help us understand the most in-demand programs and that is where we will focus when we continue a slow reopening process that works with the budgetary restrictions. Please continue your support for the Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center by spreading the word and your active participation in our program offerings.

The City of Monterey Parks and Recreation Department is working on a reopening plan for Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center, located in the Casanova Oak Knoll neighborhood at 735 Ramona Avenue. The community center closed in March of 2022 during the COVID -19 shelter in place order, and has yet to reopen. We are hosting a charrette style town hall with interactive activities to gather ideas and feedback on future services at Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center.

Please join us on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center to participate in the community town hall event. We would also like you to take the associated survey. The survey will be open through Wednesday. May 17, 2023. It gives you the opportunity to let us know what specific programs you want, as well as letting us know the affordability of the programs and services you and your family members need and want.
