City of Monterey Seeks Community Input on Budget Priorities: Take the Survey and Participate in a Listening Session
Monterey, Calif. – The City of Monterey is launching an outreach campaign to hear from residents on the next fiscal year (FY) budget 2024 - 2025. The Monterey City Council and staff want to know what programs and services matter most to residents.
“Input is vital to building a budget that reflects the community’s priorities,” said City Manager Hans Uslar. “The more responses we receive, the better the outcome, so please join in and make your voice heard.”
The community engagement process includes a community budgeting and priorities survey and in-person listening sessions at locations throughout Monterey. Listening sessions provide an opportunity for staff to share information about the budget process and, most importantly, listen to the community. Results from the survey and listening sessions will be presented to the Monterey City Council at a Study Session on April 24, 2024.
The survey is posted at https://surveymonkey.com/r/2024BudgetPriorities. The survey will close on March 10, and is available in English and Spanish.
Three Listening Sessions are scheduled:
- Monday, Feb. 26, 6:30 p.m., Scholze Park Center, 280 Dickman Ave.
- Thursday, Feb. 29, 6:00 p.m., Monterey Library Community Room, 625 Pacific St.
- Saturday, Mar. 2, 10:00 a.m., Casanova Oak Hill Park Center, 735 Ramona Ave.
